Wine: 2008 Sinatra Family Estates La Voce Toscana
Source: Robb Report
The Sinatra Family Estates 2008 La Voce Toscana is a deliciously supple blend of Sangiovese and Colorino from vineyards near Fiesole, Italy. The garnet-colored wine contrasts with its ripe California cousins, exuding subtler aromas, such as dried cherry and attar of rose. The palate is restrained and elegant, offering up red-fruit flavors—currant, cherry, and raspberry—followed by layered hints of leather, sweet tobacco, and smoky clove.

I loved the Sinatra Family Estates- 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2008 is another successful effort, although perhaps not quite as riveting as the 2007. A joint project between the Sinatra family and some people in Las Vegas, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a sweet bouquet of black currants, cedar and spice, an appealing texture and lushness, medium to full body and a velvety texture. This delicious, complex, evolved 2008 is ideal for drinking over the next 10-15 years.

Representing a breathtaking advancement over the ’07, Sinatra’s 2008 Cab is simply delicious. It’s fleshy and fat in texture, with a glyceriney richness that makes it almost oily and that, when combined with caramelized oak, turns into nougat. The black-berry, cherry and cassis fruit flavors rise to the occasion. This is truly astunningly good Cabernet.

$95; includes bits of cabernet franc and petit verdot) Good medium ruby-red. Varietally expressive aromas of currant, musky espresso, tobacco leaf and smoky oak. Sweet, lush and deep, with a silky texture to the flavors of blueberry liqueur, redcurrant, mocha and spicecake. Finishes with ripe, fine-grained tannins and very good length. This rich, serious wine has plenty of structure for mid-term aging

I was blown away by the gorgeous Sinatra Family Estates 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. "Celebrity" cuvees are often huge disappointments, but that's not the case with this wine. This Calistoga-based, dense purple-colored effort offers beautiful notes of scorched earth, blueberries, blackberries, plums, and licorice. Full-bodied, opulent, and seriously-endowed with sweet tanins as well as a stunning finish, this is a delicious blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot...
This is an interesting project from the well-known Danielle Price, the energetic director of wines for all the Wynn resorts, John Schwartz, the owner of Amuse Bouche, and Frank Sinatra's three children, Tina, Nancy, and Frank, Jr.

"Diners can pair their selections with a glass of the inaugural vintage
of the wine that started it all. The recently released 2007 Come Fly
with Me Cabernet Sauvignon by Sinatra Family Estates-the winery created
by Price and vintner John Schwartz in partnership with the Sinatras-is
now available at the restaurant. 'We're going to dedicate each vintage
to a different song,' says Price. 'The 2007 is a masculine
Cabernet-perfect for the steak houses and Italian restaurants that
Sinatra preferred.."
